  • Although Cue Card has been and remains all the rage for this I think that Barry Geraghty is going to have a good Cheltenham so I am on Spirit Son in the first.

3 wins from 3 runs and the last in a classy 6 runner event at Exeter (yes there is such a thing) you might well get some 5-1 and above for an each way steal.

Another well touted runner is Medermit and although expected to win again I think that there is value about a 2nd fav in Ghizao. Having trounced Captain Chris twice this is a good horse and is much better value that the fav.

It is all about 1st's and 2nd's with Carole´s Legacy and tomorrow may be time for a 1st..    Rare Bob could be in the shake up but at 14-1 I am all over Carole´s Legacy each way.

A turn up in the Champion hurdle is expected and Khyber Kim looks the one to do it. Hurricane Fly is my 2nd choice.

I can never really get away from Miss N Carberry in bumpers and in this CROSS COUNTRY CHASE but I like Maljimar at around 6-1 for this years race.

Quevega is not a hard choice to make in the 4:40

In the last I would like odds about Nadiya De La Vega not completing and it is a nightmare of a race so forced into a selection it would be Premier Sagas e/w.

  • The marathon at 1:30 I have narrowed down to 3.

Chamirey, heavily eased last time when in command over 3 miles, Some Target trainer and jockey combo and already a winner over 28f in the mud in Ireland and going clear at the time and Sona Sasta who might not like going left handed so is my 3rd choice.

A little dutching can show a healthy return at the expected prices.

In the 2nd I have a lot of respect for Tornado Bob but think that Oscars Well could win this easily.

2:40 and the stats point to Mikael D´Haguenet and at 10/1 I like it a lot.

3:20 and I am a Master Minded fan as are the stats.

Now for the Coral cup... Where to start....Stats tell me this...

    Last-time-out winners
Ran well in the MCR Hurdle or totesport Trophy
    The Irish
A freshness angle (either a few runs this season or running off a longish break)

all of which lead me to Ruby continuing his good run with Call The Police although Orzare is interesting at a big price.

In the Fred Winter I am on 20/1 shot Kayef again because of the stats. French bred, did not win its first 2 hurdles.

In the bumper I think it is time for Barry Geraghty to get one on the board with Ericht

  • Today last year lambone and I were on the course in the 888 VIP box enjoying free food and drink.

This year I have time to make a few selections but before I have a good look I just wanted to put up a lively outsider in Aimigayle @ 33-1 in the 4:00

  • 1:30 and with so much talk about    Loosen My Load  it is difficult to look elsewhere.

2:05 As the irish seem to have a few lengths on us this year I will go with Rivage D´Or

2:40 My heart would like to see old Albertas Run win but POQUELIN looks like getting revenge and an each way pick and Roberto Goldback is a huge price.

3:20 Big Bucks all day and Rigour Back Bob for a place

4:00 Big each way prices Aimigayle and Bible Lord for me.

4:40 and I have to back Mostly Bob for sentimental reasons.

  • ive been  over 15times and luv it in the cotswolds, as for betting all i can say is high weights in big handicaps dont win very often and if they aint fully matured they struggle. i can only remember katchit in the champion hurdle winnin at a young age. ferdy murphy does well in   big handicaps if his horse is well weighted. gl and drink guinness  ;)
